'Govt must purge separatism'
The Jakarta Post, Malang, Jakarta

The Indonesian government should take harsh action against all separatist movements after a group of people tried to wave the South Maluku Republic (RMS) flag in front of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in the Maluku provincial capital of Ambon on Friday, said Islamic leader Din Syamsuddin.

RMS is a separatist movement with Christianity as its base.

Din Syamsuddin is the head of Muhammadiya, the second largest Islamic organization here. He is also a mouthpiece for the Indonesian Ulemas Council.

That's the same group who a year or so ago said there should NOT be pluralism in Indonesia. In other words, no mixing of people from different religions.

I wonder if Din Syamsuddin includes taking "harsh action against all separatist movements" if they include Muslims who want to remain separate in this supposedly Pancasila nation?

Yes quite. The Balinese turned the argument for the Draconian Muslim backed anti porn bill on it's head by saying it's backers were against the spririt of the Republic - and in the context of Pancasila, they certainly are. You can have your religion or your country mate - you'd better decide which.

Old Din was on that plane that crashed in Yogya I believe. Allah has spared him to continue his quest to spread Islamo-fascism and fuck with our heads some more.
Chinese like more traditional patterns on their ring.
