RI needs Rp 1,296 trillion in investment next year to grow 6.8 percent

JAKARTA (Antara): Indonesia will need Rp 1,296 trillion (US$145 billion) in investment next year to meet the economic growth target of 6.8 percent, a minister said Tuesday.

"To post a growth rate of 6.8% in 2008, investment level should increase by 14 percent reaching the amount of Rp 1,296 trillion," Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said Tuesday.

The main sources of investment will include the state budget (Rp 173,6 trillion), private investments (Rp 460 trillion), loans for infrastructure projects (Rp 90 trillion), and banking (Rp 210 trillion).

Other sources of investment such as corporate bonds isexpected to contribute Rp 210,3 trillion of the total investment. (***)[size:14pt][/size]
