Inco appoints new board of commissioners

Jakarta (Antara News) - PT International Nickel Indonesia (Inco) at an extraordinary shareholders` meeting here Wednesday appointed new people to its board of commissioners, including a new president commissioner.

Named as members of Inco`s new board of commissioners were Murilo Ferreira, Mark Cutifani and Leonardo Moretzsohn with Ferreira assuming the role of president commissioner, the company said in a statement.

Ferreira, Cutifani and Moretzsohn replaced Peter Jones (former president commissioner), Ronald C. Aelick and Robert D.J Davies who recently resigned from the company`s board of commissioners.

Inco`s principal activities are exploration and mining, processing, storage, transportation and marketing of nickel and associated mineral products.

The company produces nickel in matte, an intermediate product from lateritic ores at its integrated mining and processing facilities near Soroako in Sulawesi.

Inco which has a contract agreement until 2025 is 60 percent controlled by Inco Limited of Canada and 20.1 percent by Sumitomo Metal Mining Co Ltd.(*)
