Tempo Interactive, Jakarta:Microsoft Indonesia will collaborate with more than 500 software vendors in marketing its Windows Vista software.

This measure is aimed at reducing pirated software sales in Indonesia.

Ari Kunwidodo, Microsoft Indonesia’s Director of Original Equipment Manufacturing, said that this program will be implemented in Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya.

“This is Microsoft’s first program in grabbing part of the retail market,” said Ari last week.

Through this program, Microsoft want to make it easy for people to find original software.

The program is also in order to inform vendors about Microsoft so that they can give advice to customers.

Ari said there was not any legal agreement in the acquiring software vendors program.

The purpose is so that the vendors involved in this program can still sell other software as they are not bound to sell only Microsoft software.

“Microsoft will ask (vendors) to sell original Microsoft products without insisting on special requirements, but instead providing advantages,” he said.
