RI`s oil output expected to increase by 80,000 BPD

Jakarta (Antara News) - Indonesia`s oil output this year is expected to increase by 80,000 barrels per day after eight new oil fields have come on stream, an oil industry official said.

"With the increase in output, we are optimistic the national oil production target of 1.050 million bpd for 2007 will be achieved," Kardaya Warnika, head of the Oil and Gas Upstream Regulatory Body (BP Migas), said at a hearing with the House of Representatives Commission VII (energy, mineral resources, research, technology and the environment) here on Monday.

The production increase would come from four existing and eight new oil fields, he said.

The four existing fields were Duri field in Riau with 25,000 bpd, Pondok Tengah field in Bekasi with 17,000 bpd, offshore fields with 15,000 bpd, and Bene Bekasap field in Riau with 5,000 bpd.

The eight new fields included Ujung Pangkah in Madura with 7,500 bpd, Sisi-Nubi (4,680 bpd), Sepanjang Island (2,229 bpd), JS-53A (2,229 bpd), Telisa Kotabatak (1,098 bpd) and Oyong (Santos) (1,027 bpd).(*)

Take Madura and Oyong out of the equation. The pipeline used to export from these fields is the one which blew up in Sidoarjo!
