Operators using foreign satellite obliged to obtain landing right permit

JAKARTA (Antara): The government is obliging telecommunications operators using foreign satellite services to submit applications for landing rights on June 5, 2007 at the latest.

"Telecommunications operators using foreign satellite services are obliged to get landing right permits, and they are given until June 5, 2007 to complete their applications," Spokesman of the Directorate General for Post and Telecommunication, Gatot S. Dewa Brata, said here on Sunday.

He said that operators were obliged to have the landing right licenses in connection with the need to have neat coordination in the use of satellites and with the availability of the reciprocal opportunities for the use such a satellite. (***)
