Jakarta (Antara News/Asia Pulse) - PT Indomal Usahasama, a joint venture between Indonesian and Malaysian investors, says it plans to build a US$1 billion Palm Oil Center on the island of Mangole in North Maluku.

The center will include oil palm plantations, crude palm oil (CPO) processing plants, and palm oil-based bio-diesel plants, said Indomal president Chairul Anhar.

He said the company will build a 200,000 hectare oil palm plantation which it expects will produce 5 million fresh fruit bunches a year, along with 7 processing plants to produce CPO with an annual capacity of 120 tons an hour.
