Malaysia's Genting unit discovers oil in Indonesia

Kuala Lumpur (Antara News) - Genting Bhd said its subsidiary Genting Oil Natuna Pte Ltd (GONPL) has discovered oil in its two offshore exploration wells in Indonesia, named Ande Ande Lumut 2X-R and Ande Ande Lumut 3X.

The two wells are part of its three-well offshore drilling program in West Natuna, the company was quoted by XFN-Asia as saying in a filing to Bursa Malaysia.

According to Genting, a major testing program at the two locations resulted in oil production at a restricted flow rate of 525 and 1210 barrels of oil per day (bopd).

GONPL, the operator, holds a 100 pct interest in the Northwest Natuna Production Sharing Contract (PSC), in which the two wells are located. (*)
