Tempo Interactive, Jakarta: Foreign investors are only interested in one out of all the projects that the Department of Transportation offered at the Indonesia Infrastructure Conference and Exhibition 2006 last week in Jakarta.

These investors include Indonesian International Container Services Inc from the Philippines, West Port of New Zealand and Natexis Bank of America.

“They are interested in the Lawong Bay Terminal at Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya which is worth Rp2.5 trillion,' said Transportation Minister Hatta Rajasa last week in Jakarta.

Another project that the Department of Transportation offered was the Margagiri-Ketapang crossing quay worth Rp1 trillion, as well as a further 27 potential projects worth Rp20 trillion.

“As far as the Margagiri-Ketapang project is concerned, investors have only studied it,” said Hatta.

According to the minister, the investors will later be involved in the Lamong Bay development and management according to already determined schedule.

It is planned that by the beginning of next year, the tender for the project will be started.
