22 Companies Join Internet Monitoring Tender

Tempo Interactive, Jakarta: As many as 22 information technology companies have registered to be participants in a tender of the Internet traffic monitoring or Indonesia Security Incident Response Team on Information (ID-SIRTII).
The companies include PT Complus Trimitra, PT Datacomm Dian Graha, PT Patrakom, PT Sigma Caraka and PT Trinet Prima Solusi.

Spokesperson of the Directorate General of Post and Telecommunication and the Information of the Communication Department Gatot S. Dewa Broto said the registration was closed yesterday (16/10). The submission of tender documents lasts until tomorrow.

ID-SIRTII is an institution established by the government to monitor the Internet traffic in Indonesia to prevent cyber crime. The establishment of the institution was carried out based on the Information and Communication Minister Regulation No. 27/2006 on Telecommunication Network Security through Internet Protocol on September 20.

According to Gatot, the company that wins the tender will start its activities in mid-November. “The tender winner will prepare the database equipment as well as act as the Internet traffic’s monitor board,” he said yesterday.
