Car Sales Rise 30 Percent

Tempo Interactive, Jakarta: Approaching the Eid holiday, leading car producers in Indonesia have recorded sales rises pf 30 percent compared to previous months.

Joko Trisanyoto, PT Toyota Astra Motor’s Marketing Director, said the rise of sales target approaching Eid had already been foreseen.

He explained that during August to September, 2005, Toyota has booked up to 94,600 units in sales.

“Until last week, 61,900 unit sales have been reached,” he said.

Wiwie Kurnia, Managing Director of PT Indomobil Sukses Internasional, said that a rise between 15 and 20 percent of sales has already been seen.

According to Wiwie, the company’s car sales reaches 8,400 units per month on average, higher than the previous month of between 6,000 and 7,000 units.

Sudirman, Vice Director of PT Astra Daihatsu Motor, also acknowledged the recent sales rise.
