My cable internet provider, Kabelvision, has had major tech problems and I've been out of action for a week. I saw this shocking article while at my office but I don't use their computers to post stuff here. It's about Munir and the Indo Intel boys paying big $$ to lobbyists in Washington D.C.... At least one other Indonesian-based blogger has picked up on it recently too.

Read this amazing stuff and download the pdf files too, they're fascinating, especially the tripped out Gus Dur connection.

Anyway, the scariest thing in all this Munir skullduggery is the bit about how they administered the arsenic --- THEY PUT IT IN HIS MIE GORENG (fried noodles)!

Now how frightening is that?? Garuda, the national flag carrier, on an international flight, serves friggin' mie goreng to business class passengers!! I hear their caterer is Pak Budi, the old boy with the red and white kaki lima out in front of the airport terminal.

mi goreng in business class? indomie? or something classy, like yummi?

good to know that garuda is paying attention to the bottom line.

A couple of the local papers finally picked up on this story -- nearly a week after the initial report! But they all seemed to miss the importance of the connection with Munir, or did they?. They all focused on the lobbying to restore military ties, which by mid-2005 was nearly a done deal anyway, so why the $30,000/mo? Simple, to ease the US congress' pressure for a proper prosecution of Munir's assassins. And who paid all that money, let's see it rhymes with kin or din or rin tin tin and looks just like Osama's middle name... Could those same guys have "spoken" to the nation's esteemed editors?
