Tempo Interactive, Jakarta: Four out of 10 electric projects are being re-tendered because only two investors are interested.

The four projects are the 1,200 MW Steam-Powered Electricity Plant (PLTU) Tanjung Jati (Central Java), 900 MW PLTU Teluk Naga (Banten), 600 MW PLTU Pelabuhan Ratu (West Java) and 900 MW PLTU Pacitan (East Java).

According to I Gusti Made Ariaguna, Senior Expert for Private Electricity Contract Management at PLN I, the provision is if a project tender only has two participants, there will be a second tender.

“We will schedule it later,” he said yesterday (4/10).

Ariaguna said that as regards the re-tender, all participants that have passed the pre-qualification process can submit their documents.

He also said several participants withdrew from the tender because there was no clarity in terms of guarantee, funding and land acquisition.

The two participants interested in PLTU Tanjung Jati are the consortium of Zelan Holdings (M) (SDN Berhad, PT Primanaya Djan International, Tronoh Consolidated Malaysia Berhad, and China National Machinery Industry Corp.) plus the consortium between China National Electric Equipment Corp. and PT Penta Adi Samudera.

Those interested in the PLTU Teluk Naga are the consortium between Marubeni Corporation and PT Maklamat Cakera Canggih and the consortium between Dongfang Electric Corporation and PT Truba Jurong Engineering.
