Govt able to carry out 27 of 161 infrastructure development policies


Jakarta (Antara News) - The government has been able to carry out only 41 or 27 percent of a total of 161 infrastructure development policies set forth by the coordinating minister for economic affairs last February 2006, a spokesman said.

The 41 policies comprised 17 policies of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and the National Development Planning Agency; 8 of the Finance Ministry; 6 of the Home Affairs Ministry; 20 of the Public Works Ministry; 14 of the Transportation Ministry; 6 of the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, 14 of the Communication and Information Ministry, 1 of the Public Housing Ministry and 2 of the National Board of Land Affairs, the secretary to the National Development Planning Minister, Syahrial Loethan, said here Friday.

"Hopefully, 85 percent of the total number of policies will have been successfully carried out by December 2006," he said.

Two ministries that had yet to make policies on the infrastructure sector were the State Ministry for State Enterprises and the State Secretary.
