Pertamina to Evaluate Oil-Based Fuel PricesMonday, 24 July, 2006 | 14:46 WIB
Tempo Interactive, Jakarta: The continuing rise of the world's crude oil prices has resulted in PT Pertamina's (Persero) evaluating its oil-based fuel prices.
“We still have to wait for the results until the end of July of this year to decide the amount,” Pertamina spokesperson Toharso said yesterday (23/7).
According to him, Pertamina has estimated that for the time being the world oil prices will be inclined to keep on rising.
This tendency, he added, is included in the evaluation process of economic prices that has been periodically carried out every month.
Muljo Adji, spokesperson for PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), the state electricity company, said that should domestic fuel price rises, PLN will experience problems in the second half of this year.
“We're waiting until the end of this month to decide whether or not Pertamina to raise the oil price. Afterwards, we'll calculate for it,” he said.
