, Jakarta: It has been proposed that tax incentive be implemented for strategic industries, which absorb many employees and increase the domestic technologic capabilities.
“Tax incentives to be put into effect by the government should be aimed at strategic purposes,” said the Trade Minister, Mari Elka Pangestu.
The 30 percent income tax that has been borne by strategic industries is considered to be very burdensome.
Especially when in other countries, such taxes are only between 20 to 28 percent.
Mari suggests that tax incentive be given not only to new industries or the industries which are about to be established, but also to existing industries that are planning to restructure or expand.
