) - Foreign tourists arrivals during the first quarter to March dropped 13.13 pct year-on-year to 871,817 from 1.00 mln a year ago, with Bali leading the falls, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics report.
It said Bali's Ngurah Rai airport saw a 24.87 pct year-on-year drop in tourist arrivals during the quarter to 251,382 from 334,587, the biggest drop among major entry points.
The report quoted by XFN-Asia as saying that in March alone, tourist arrivals in Bali picked up to 88,944 from 77,384 in the previous month, but were down sharply from 121,457 a year ago.
The resort island is still trying to recover from the impact of last October's suicide bombing there, which killed 20 bystanders.
It said Jakarta was the largest entry point during the quarter, reporting an increase in arrivals of 5.31 pct year-on-year to 271,519 from 257,839 a year earlier.
The capital also saw a pick up in March tourist arrivals to 98,804 from 84,912 in February.(*)
