In reponse to the vitriol posted over the last few days, here's Giles Coren, pissed off at various subeditors for (among other things) messing with his copy so that it ends on an unstressed syllable.

Wankers? No way, I am thinking of using this line as my new sig.......

never ever ask me to write something for you. and don't pay me. i'd rather take £400 quid for assassinating a crack whore's only child in a revenge killing for a busted drug deal - my integrity would be less compromised.

Fair play. Some subs can be absolute tosspots. If a sub is dealing with well written and thorough copy, their job is to merely spot and fix any typos, grammatical errors or factual errors - not to make stupid little changes because they think they know better.

Vitriol?

I'd say it was pretty tame really, or pretty Thame if you are in Buckinghamshire.

Attempting to just have a couple drinks in the spirit of simply pre-gaming, but instead getting completely shitfaced before even leaving for the bars.
