Help!!
I need some opinion here! I'm currently sitting in CGK waiting for a flight out of the country, but just had a terrible experience at the passport control. To save pages in my passport I had taken out some of the old VoA stickers, but this made the officers mad. They even told me things like this can land me in jail blah blah, big fines, bla blah. But after a while they let me go with a warning. No bribes paid. But one of the officer (they were really crowding around me) didn't want me to go that easily, he wrote down my passport details and said I would be blacklisted from ever coming here again. For sure I will come again, next week already, but now I am very scared.. don't know if it was just to frighten me or if it is real. Anybody know if they can blacklist me just because I took out some old visa stickers??

silly boy. you should not ever mess with your passport like that. most countries of the world see it as their right to know where you have been. and where you have been deported from. and yes, they *can* blacklist you for whatever reason they wish.

You will just have to see when you try to get back in. Tampering with a passport is never a good idea and will cause you trouble in most countries you visit. My advice would be if they let you in then get a new passport ... and don't touch it again.

You'll probably get back in OK. The computers at passport control usually don't seem to be even plugged in. Are they just there for effect Ku? Or do they actually have some accessible records on them?

I just went to the Indonesian embassy here to get a social visa (sosial budaya), and they didn't even notice the missing stickers, even though they examined the passport page by page! Going to pick it up on Monday... and flying back to CGK next Thursday! Will let ya know the outcome... Thanks for all the opinions by the way!

It really is a sick joke though the way they make every visa, even the piece of shit VoA, a full page slab... hope u get some rest kirun, been a busy morning.

Stay in Manila and have a new passport processed, you would be a lot better off and much less likely to be picked up. If you do come back with the same passport and same missing stickers they could easily pick you out and put your ass right back on the plane that brought you in..........just get a new passport and chalk it up to a lesson learned. You don't believe they will give you the same hassle when you leave a few months from now?

Wish it was that simple. Getting a new passport is a major hassle for me, as it has to be sent from my country to the embassy where it is applied, none of the embassies can issue it directly. Going to take a month minimum. That's why I chose to take the risk in the first place... a risk greater than what I imagined though..
I think I'm just going to take the chance and get to Jakarta, bribe my way through if necessary, then apply for a new passport there. I simply can't stay for weeks in Manila.

Fair enough but then I would go via Singapore and come over on the ferry and avoid some of the asses in Jakarta or Bali. When sitting in that position you are in with them possibly remembering you from when you left you should truly try and avoid Jakarta and let's face it Bali is already know for it's Immigration Assholes..........

Hey, are you saying that immigration is worse in CGK than DPS? I was under the impression that since mostly tourists go to DPS (as opposed to expats in CGK), they might hassle you less in Bali... penang to medan on the ferry's the thing to do..sweet as kittens immigration at belawan port and well-known too for their staunch anti-corruption policy--couldn't give 'em a bribe if you tried
