Hoaxes, while clearly amusing to the child-minded folks who perform them, are plainly dangerous. Throughout history examples abound of people being incited to panic and conflicts arising when people have been “duped” into believing something(s) which is not true. One need look no further than recent events in this country to realize this.

In this light I would caution anyone who thinks about spreading untruths , such as the risible fake youtube article , to think carefully before doing so.

There is of course a source of absolute truth but I shan’t mention it here for fear of the uneasiness it seems to provoke in many of this site’s readers
