Changes in Immigration Regulations

Pak Irawan reports the following important changes in regulations for visas etc. For further information contact him on tel/fax 0271 731666. The following new regulations have been announced by the Indonesian government, and are now valid.
Both single and multiple reentry permits can now be extended outside the country. The method is as follows. Before expiry, an application for extension should be made, allowing several days as the relevant data must be sent to the office of the Director General of Immigration in Jakarta and to the immigration office that issued the Kitas.

Visas obtained at the airport or Visa on Arrival have the code B213, and cannot be extended whatsoever. Overstay will result in a fine, which can be paid at the airport.

All guests or buyers to companies in Indonesia should obtain a visa type B213, B211 or D212. They are then able to look at goods, check stock, enter in to sales contracts and sign any document or do any business activities which are not against the laws of Indonesia. In the past this was prohibited. For instance before it was a problem if a Tourist Visa was used to check and control goods


Now the Indonesian government only issues several types of visas, rather than the many types previously issued. They are:
Type A111 Transit/short stay visa
Type B211 Visiting visa, extendable
Type B213 Visiting visa, nonextendable
Type C311 Stay visa, WTO
Type C312 Stay visa, working
Type C313 Stay visa, PMA company
Type C314 Stay visa, PMA company
Type C316 Stay visa, school or education
Type C317 Stay visa, family (social budaya)
Type C318 Stay visa, repatriation
Type C319 Stay visa, retirement
Type D212 Business visa
