Indonesian Divas spread their wings to Malaysia

Three of Indonesia's most popular female singers -- Kris Dayanti, Ruth Sahanaya, and Titi DJ -- billed as the "Three Divas," are due to step outside their home base for their first concert together in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on March 25.

The trio performed to sold-out crowds in key cities throughout Indonesia last year. They now plan perform in other Asian cities this year backed by a 50-piece orchestra led by Erwin Gutawa, one of Indonesia's best-known conductors.The "Three Divas" concert will be held at Kuala Lumpur's Putra Stadium. Tickets are priced from $22 to $68.

You have NO idea how much the Malaysian crowd adore Indonesian artists (especially the singers). I think out of all the bad names we have as a country, the musical achievement in Malaysia of our artists are one of the few we could be proud of. Although in a way our musicians are gearing more towards western style of music rather than keeping the local taste in it, their creativity are something that I can give both of my thumbs up for

malaysian audiences love drivel. the more unoriginal and uncreative it is, the more they like it.

mainstream indonesian "artists" do very well there.
