Currently we have a position for an English Travel Writer in Jakarta.

Travel Writer, Jakarta (Java)
(Jakarta Raya - Jakarta Barat)
Responsibilities:
We are looking for a English travel writer with a good knowledge of
Jakarta and outskirts of the Jakarta towns e.g puncak,
bandung etc.

You will work with the editors to plan and make arrangements to
review different places of interest, nightlife, hotels and tourist
spots in Jakarta .

You will conduct the interviews at these places and highlight the
pro's and con's of each place that you review.

You will use your flair for writing (all articles are in English) and
your creativity effectively to meet the tight deadlines for
submitting your articles and for it to be publish.

Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate
Diploma or Professional Degree in any field.

You need to have GOOD written English and preferably with some
experience in writing for travel sites or magazines.

You must be someone who is fun loving, love meeting people and
willing to work under pressure

Good local knowledge of Indonesia and willing to work in Jakarta

We are looking for candidates who are hardworking, willing to work
beyond office hours and know how to enjoy themselves while doing all
the hard work. This job is definitely not for the faint heart. If you

I hate these dickheads that demand you include a photo of yourself when you apply for a job. Wankers. It's like asking you what religion you are or if they can have a sample of your DNA.

Funny story about that. A language school here once got a guy from America to come over and work, without asking for his photo. He was half javanese, half anglo, they didn't know that, but he had spent his whole life in america. Anyway they were waiting for him at the airport when this dark, Javanese looking guy came up to them and said 'hi'. They apparently gave him a look, something like 'fuck off coolie, who the hell are you' when he said 'I'm Terry', and then they realised he was their man. After that they always asked for a photo first before flight booking.
