I don't know if it is still there, but there is the oldest Ice Cream Parlour in Jakarta on Jl Veteran, it is near Monas, behind the Mosque on the same street as the Italian Restaurant Domus...also has some great little hidden Indian Restaurants down there. this was exactly the ice cream place i was trying to think of when this topic was first started. i don't even know if it is still open; i remember a Jakarta Post article from more than a year ago that seemed to indicate that changes were afoot. maybe i'll have to send someone out on a reconnaissance mission.

I think the same family (generation onwards) still owned the place and from what was discussed the last time I was there (many years ago) was that the ice cream recipe was still the same too.
Yes Sanju, the Queens was a superb Indian restaurant, not fancy by a long long shot but the prices were as good as the food, fantastic.
The days when Tamamur and Tambora ruled the night-life at opposite ends of town.
