Pasar Festival Ku. Mediterranean grocers near the food court, full of top stuff, chick peas, olives, stuffed vine leaves etc and all cheap.

i've got the tahini and other stuff; some pitta bread might be nice to go with it, however. hopefully i can also get that a Pasar Festival.

Yes! They have pitta bread as well. and tinned hummus. In Pasar Fest itself. You'll love it.

well, i went to pasar festival, looked everywhere, and not a hummus shop anywhere. talk about a bum steer.
so, i hopped into a taxi and went to One Pacific Place, where there is a Kemchicks. i figured, kemchicks has chick in its name, so there was a possibility they would have chickpeas.
and i was right. there it was, a lonely sight, the last 250 gram packet of chickpeas on the shelf. cost? Rp20.500. which i thought was a bit rich for so little.
no pitta bread; but they did have "afgan" bread that sort of looks like pitta, so a bought some.
chickpeas need to soak overnight, so shall let you know what happens.

well, the hummus didn't turn out that good. i think the chickpeas and/or tahini were too old. plus, all up, it was a bit expensive.
so, back to the drawing board. maybe i better try looking for that shop in Pasar Festival again.

What is the opposite of renovation? Because that is exactly what is happening there! what do you call knocking down lots of walls and making a big mess, then reconstructing with results even worse than what you started with? see that pattern frequently in indonesia for some reason.
