taman mini used to be a nice place for family picnic in the Suharto era. It used to be well maintained. Now people go there to swim in the Snow Bay, a new happening waterpark located in taman mini

Of course, Don - everything was better in the Suharto era. I'm a bit old school, though. I think things were better under the Dutch. Or the Japs.

This never would've happened back in my day.

I went to Taman Mini once only, long time ago when I was still 5-6 yearsold, as picnic to somewhere in Jakarta always was provided by the company every year. In Soeharto era, life felt better. Full of abundance. Yes, there's snowbay now. Yet, it's still the place of a family recreation with children or for any reality show. Not exciting for others.

I went there on Saturday and really enjoyed it. Showed up without realising that it was the Budaya parade. Military a tad over-represented, but that is true of life here anyway. The houses have all been tarted up and it seemed genuinely well-maintained. Maybe I just got there on a weird one-in-a-million day.

The hole in the 4D cinema building still hasn't been repaired, though!

Snow Bay is the most interesting place in TMII recently. It's the newest water park here.

Apparently Snow Bay is not as great as I imaged...
